HOW DOES AIRBRUSH TANNING WORK?

The active ingredient in virtually all sunless tanning formulas is DHA (dihydroxyacetone),  a carbohydrate (monosaccharide sugar) compound approved by the FDA for use in externally applied sunless tanning solutions. DHA is usually derived from a vegetable source like beets or sugar cane. When DHA is applied to the skin, it causes a harmless chemical reaction with the existing amino acids in the skin to produce a tan, much like the sun does, but without UVA and UVB damage. The tanning solution is manually airbrushed in a fine mist all over the body or desired areas.  The process will take about  10-30 minutes (more for body contouring)  including drying time.

IS THIS SAFE FOR MY SKIN?

DHA sunless tanning has been recommended by The Skin Cancer Organization, American Academy of Dermatology, The American Cancer Society, The American Medical Society, and has been approved for cosmetic use by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). It has been used for over 30 years without any harmful effect. Unlike the sun, you will NOT get burned/skin cancer/wrinkles/sun damage from Spray tanning!

HOW LONG WILL MY TAN LAST?

Depending on your activities, skin type and proper aftercare,  the tan should last between 5- 12 days. I cannot guarantee any certain amount of days.  With follow-up applications, you can maintain your tan indefinitely. I carry very affordable after care products that are designed for your Spray Tan.  DO NOT USE any store bought products as they will strip your color and cause horrible fading.  I am NOT responsible and offer no guarantee if you use products that are not designed for your spray tan.  USE LOTION/MOISTURIZER ON YOUR SKIN DAILY TO EXTEND THE LIFE OF YOUR TAN AS WELL AS HELP YOUR TAN FADE EVENLY.  Many factors such as how fast your skin cells turn over, body oil production, soaking in hot baths/saunas,  medications, lifestyle, perspiration, hormone changes and many others can fade your color fast! Tight clothing may cause the tan to naturally exfoliate if any material rubs against the skin, so keep this in mind when dressing after application.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR FOR MY TANNING SESSION?

Swimwear is the most popular choice, although our female clients may opt for no tan lines. Males must wear a swimsuit or underwear. Clients under 18 must have a legal guardian present, and may not under any circumstance tan nude or topless.  I tell all my clients to wear what is COMFORTABLE for them! Do not wear lace/silk. Cotton/older items are best.  I am not responsible for stains. I want you to feel relaxed and not worry about me looking at you 🙂 I have seen EVERYTHING so please RELAX!   The only thing I am concerned about is giving you a beautiful tan in a stress free setting. I have sprayed every size, weight, age, shape, color of person on the planet.  Being a woman means having body imperfections SO DON’T WORRY ABOUT IT!! I have them as well!! WILL I TURN ORANGE FROM A SPRAY TAN?
No, absolutely not! With the advancement in sunless tanning technology, spray tanning has come a long way from that tell-tale unattractive orange color. Streakiness occurs with improper application of at-home tanning creams and sprays, going to a Spray booth, as well as amateurs who spray cheap solution with improper techniques which is why you should always allow a TRAINED and EXPERIENCED airbrush artist to apply your tan. Would you let a beginner color your hair or apply lash extensions? Then don’t allow them to Spray Tan you!  I have advanced training in Colorology and the advanced techniques of blue/green/violet based solution mixing.  I am also skilled in body contouring and stage tans for Pageants/Theatrical/Bodybuilding shows/Photoshoots and Motion Picture/TV.

I run specials and promotions throughout the year.  If you invite a friend (or two or three or four) the price decreases!  Email me to hold your own tanning party!  Have five friends over to your tanning party and you tan FOR FREE!! I am also available for Bridal party tanning, bodybuilding shows, cheerleading and dance teams, Pageants,  Photo shoots, Theatrical and stage and I am very experienced with working on Motion Picture/TV/Commercial productions and magazine/print and runway.

Unlike some places I DO NOT CHARGE EXTRA for Prep Spray, two coats of solution, extra dark tans ect. Please DO NOT get ripped off and pay for things that I include in my service!

DO YOU HAVE ACCESS TO THE MILITARY BASES AND BASE HOUSING?

Yes!!! I am a proud USMC Veteran and I am a retiree.  I can access ANY and ALL military installations and ALL base housing!!  The new base security regulations mandates that ONLY authorized vehicles be allowed through the gates. You do not have to worry or waste your time trying to get my name on a *visitors list*.  As you know Marine Corps Order states that NO access is given anymore to just some random person.  You must hold an ID card and be registered on base for full access. This keeps you safe from unknown people. There is NO such thing as anyone having special base access.  See if that person can access the base without you having to jump through hoops! not going to happen!!

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO SET UP YOUR MOBILE TANNING SYSTEM?

Upon arriving at your location, It only takes  approximately five minutes to set up! All I need is an electrical outlet, good lighting and a place tall enough (9 feet tall) for a tanning tent. The place you have me set up should also be nice and cool, never stuffy and hot! Sweating=bad spray tan!  I will do a one on one skin consultation, fill out necessary paperwork and get started!

WILL THE TAN ACTUALLY BE EVEN ENOUGH TO WEAR A SWIMSUIT WITHOUT WORRYING ABOUT FLAWS?

Yes! The beauty of the tan is that it covers skin blemishes, acne scars, stretch marks, skin imperfections ect.  I have worked with many clients that have skin disorders as well as clients with skin grafts/Double Mastectomies, Rosacea, Eczema and other body issues.

Q: Will a Bronze product stain my clothing or bed sheets?

A: Yes and No. Bronzers will wash out of just about any cotton fabric, but fine fabrics like silk, lace etc can be stained and the bronzer may not come out. I have done many Brides and Pageant clients with no issues.

Q:How long before I can shower after my sunless tan application?

A: Sunless tanning solutions start to develop color in as little as 4 hours, with full developed color in 24hrs. I suggest a 8-10 hr period between application and your post application shower.   Make sure you wear loose, dark clothing after your Spray tan.  NO SOCKS AND SHOES, flip-flops only! Avoid any and all tight clothing such as tank tops/leggings and skinny jeans. When you do shower, make it short warm water rinse with no soap.  When you take your shower you will see the bronzer washing off.  Use your hand to lightly rub your skin to ensure all bronzer has been removed.

Q: What to avoid so my sunless tan last longer?

A: Dove shower gel or soap, Bar soaps, especially deodorant varieties or anti-bacterial.
Curel lotion, Victoria’s Secret, Bath and Body works, Alcohol, SLS, mineral oil, coconut oil. Any and all products that are NOT designed specifically for Spray Tanning.
Hair Inhibiting Lotions. Soap and shampoo that has sulfates should be avoided.
Anti-aging products that “renew,” “refresh” or exfoliate skin
AHA’s (Alpha Hydroxy Acids), Glycolic, Lactic, Malic, Citric, and Tartaric Acids
BHA’s (Beta Hydroxy Acids-Salicylic Acid)
Retin-A type products (Retin-A, Renovate, Tazorac, and Trefinoin)
Toners containing Witch Hazel or Alcohol
Anti-acne products that exfoliate the skin-Accutane or Salicylic Acid
Makeup remover cleaning products or oils used to clean away eye makeup
The use (daily) of loofa or a scrub mitt etc.
Band-Aids or adhesive tape
Facial masks or exfoliating scrubs
Adhesive facial strips
Wax hair removal
Depilatory hair removal products …Nair, Veet, Neet etc.
Shaving exfoliates the skin therefore fading the tan.  When preparing for your tanning session, DO NOT use a razor that has a moisture strip attached to it as this WILL leave a film on your legs causing your legs not to hold color!  Make sure you shave the day BEFORE you get your tan.  After your tan is processed,  Clients should use a sharp double razor with a lubricating product such as hair conditioner. Wash off conditioner when done. A dull razor will scrape off the tan.
Pat dry after a shower; don’t rub dry
Body hair bleach products
Submersion in a hot tub, swimming pool with chlorine, salt water even a long hot bath WILL fade your tan faster.
Women’s tans may also develop differently during various hormonal occurrences (ovulation, menstruation, pregnancy). It may be a streaky, patchy, fade worse or produce a lighter or no color.
Bug spray, when sprayed directly onto the skin can remove or fade the tan. Clients should spray clothing or a “cloud” of spray that they can walk through instead of applying directly to the skin.

The most important thing is to moisturize, moisturize, moisturize!! The more you moisturize, the longer your tan will last!! Also stay hydrated!  Drinking plenty of water  does wonders for the longevity of your tan!

WHAT ARE YOU HOURS OF OPERATION ?  I am not a traditional *9 to 5* business.  I have sprayed as early as 5 am and as late as 3 am! (After hour fee applies for work done before 9 am and after 10 pm)    Do not hesitate to call and see what I have available.  Same day appointments are possible.  Weekends are often booked out 6 months to a year in advance. If you need a weekend, book ASAP!  Any late night voicemails and text messages will be returned the following business day.
