Preparation and After care

How to prepare before your  Airbrush Tanning Session

Shower thoroughly and exfoliate with a oil free product. This will remove dead skin, and provide a smooth surface for your tan to ensure even coverage and lengthen the duration of your tan. Pay attention to areas with creases such as knees, elbows, between breasts and really scrub those armpits! If deodorant is still on skin it will turn Incredible Hulk Green!
Any manicure/Pedicure/Waxing/Hair bleaching or coloring should be done at least one day before the day of your tan.
Do not use ANY Dove soap products or bar soap or anything with oil.
Dove soap and Dove lotions leave a film on your skin that leads to a blotchy tan. Make sure you get a nice close shave the night before your session. DO NOT SHAVE or take a hot shower the same day as your tan. It takes a few hours for your pores to close after a hot shower, and the solution can get in the open pores and cause the appearance of blackheads on the skin. Make sure your razor does NOT have a moisture strip on it as this will leave a film on your skin.

Remember, DO NOT put anything on your skin prior to your appointment. No deodorant, moisturizers, perfume/cologne or make-up. Remove all jewelry. Have your hair pulled back and REMEMBER DO NOT PUT ANYTHING ON YOUR SKIN! Think clean skin!

The Day of Your Tan

Have dark loose fitting clothing and flip flops. No socks, tight tank tops/skinny jeans or tight jeans.  You may dress down to your comfort level.  If we spray you topless, you will have to remain that way till your tan develops. Tight fitting clothing worn on a fresh tan can rub the solution off and leave your tan patchy. If it is raining wear long sleeves, track bottoms and bring an umbrella!  I offer a Rapid Tan which develops faster then a regular spray tan and allows you to shower earlier. The color will still need time to develop after you shower.
On the day of your tan please remember do not wear make up/Perfume/lotion/body spray or deodorant. None of these should be applied till after your tan completely develops and you have rinsed.

If you are tanning at my private studio please note I am NOT set up for early arrivals. I am a one person operation and cannot open the door if I am still with a client/on the phone or returning from a Mobile appointment.  If you arrive early you may wait in your car or sit on my porch and ring the bell at your appointment time.  If you are running late PLEASE let me know.  Due to insurance regulations nobody may enter the studio that does not have an appointment. Please do not bring anyone with you, this includes children. My studio is not childproof. Only exception are those with babies that can be strapped into a carrier/stroller. Please do not bring pets.
Review and Sign the Release Form (I will give you one. MINORS must have parent sign release form.) ASK ANY AND ALL QUESTIONS!!! 🙂

After Care

Do not shower or sweat excessively for the next 8-10 hours (Over night if possible) after your tan. No working out/Running/Outdoor chores ect. This allows your tan to fully develop it’s color. If you shower too early, your tan will not develop.
If you do not shower until the next morning, please make sure to wear loose fitting, full length pjs to bed.
Do not shave for the first 12 hours after your spray and first shower, if you MUST please use a fresh razor.
Use hand sanitizer to wash your hands during developing time.

Only use aftercare products (including body wash) that are designed for Spray Tans. I carry a very affordable complete line designed for your spray tan.
Wearing socks or closed shoes can cause your tan to develop unevenly on your feet, please avoid wearing either for at least the first 5 hours of your tan.
Avoid wearing tight clothing during the development of your tan, tight clothing could render your tan splotchy.
Remember: When you take a shower  you will see the bronzer wash off.  This is quite normal as it is only the color guide that I use when the tan is applied. You will be left with a gorgeous tan. On your first shower,  you should ONLY do a warm water rinse, no soap and then remember to PAT your skin lightly, do not rub when drying off after your shower. This will only fade your tan faster!

Maintaining the Tan

Avoid long/hot baths and showers, hot temperatures open your pores and will release the tan more quickly.
Avoid swimming pools, hot tubs and ocean water these can reduce your tan.
Pat your skin dry after every shower
Moisturize is the key to keeping your tan. I offer low cost, Salon quality aftercare products that are designed just for your Spray Tan. These products do not contain any alcohol or Mineral Oil/Sulfates or harsh additives.  I cannot be responsible and offer no guarantee if you chose to use products not specifically designed for your Spray Tan.  Store bought products often hide alcohol/Sulfates and Oils, and list them under big unpronounceable words.  These WILL strip your tan and cause uneven fading and make them blotchy.  PLEASE only use the products designed for your spray tan to get the most out of it and keep it looking fantastic! * Remember*  Your Spray Tan DOES NOT have any SPF factor so ALWAYS wear Sun Protection as usual. Use a water proof sunscreen, not an oily one or aerosol kind.
